You should be very cautious about entering your routing and account numbers online, but sometimes you may need to. Be sure to only enter your debit, credit card or account number into secure websites, never fill in data because someone asks you to via email or phone (don’t click on their links but go directly to an official site yourself) and only authorize Automated Clearing House (ACH) withdrawals from your account in writing (such as agreeing to terms and conditions).
