To limit the risk of the account going negative, we can opt the account out of Courtesy Pay and Overdraft Protection Plus, which will reject debit card transactions if the amount is more than the available limit in the account. Depending on how some merchants send payment authorizations, there is a chance the amount will be approved despite not having enough in the account. Verve recommends not allowing checks or automatic payments on this account as these items will increase the risk of the account going negative. Verve cannot guarantee the account will never go negative, but we can help limit the risk.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROCEDURES FOR OPENING A NEW ACCOUNT
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
