On Tuesday, July 19, Calumet Medical Center teamed up with Verve and other local businesses, organizations and individuals to help educate the community about injury prevention and youth safety. Safety Day featured presentations and activities for kids of all ages, giving them the tools they need to stay safe.

Verve put on a fun, interactive lesson for kids that taught them about the best ways to keep money safe in the long run. In an engaging group discussion, children shared pros and cons of different places to keep their pint-sized savings. They then used props to rank each option from safest to least safe. The kids went home excited to make their first deposit at a financial institution to help it grow over time while keeping it safe until they need it.

Stronger Together through Smart Community Programs

Verve was proud to help make Safety Day a success. Programs like this one, in which the community works together to make life better for everyone, are at the heart of what it means to be a cooperative. With the Cooperative Principle of Community in mind, Verve is always looking for ways to make our communities better—and safer—places to live, work and play. We’ve got your back!
